AGA Fruit Crumble
For the crumble mix:
175g (6 oz) plain flour
85g (3 oz) wholemeal flour
175g (6 oz) butter
175g (6 oz) demerara sugar
55g (2 oz) jumbo oats
55g (2 oz) toasted hazelnuts, halved
For the fruit filling:
1.5kg (3 lb 5 oz) frozen red fruit, if thawed pour off some of the liquid
55-85g (2-3 oz) sugar
1. Place the flours, butter and sugar into a bowl and rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, or use a food processor for this stage. Stir in the oats and hazelnuts.
2. Tip the prepared fruit into the base of the roaster and sprinkle with sugar. Tip over the crumble mixture.
3. Hang the roaster from the third set of runners in the Baking Oven and cook for about 35-40 minutes until the crumble is golden and the fruit cooked.
4. Serve with custard, cream, crème fraiche or ice cream.
